These emerald backwaters are formed with gleaming waterways, canals, lakes, rivers, etc. Kuttanad is a paradise of backwaters that lets you stay in traditional houseboats and relish incredible wonders of nature sprawling around. Alleppey’s houseboats are as long as 120-foot and takes you through charming crisscrossing network of canals.

Alleppey’s St. Mary’s Forane Church has its history going back to 835 AD. It holds great importance among the locals and is known for organizing two grand feasts or festivals every year. It is dedicated to Virgin Mary. For tasting the local cultures and traditions, visit Krishnapuram Palace which promises you relaxation of mind, body and soul. This is a museum-palace belonging to the 18th century. It is a classic example of South Indian architecture and charms many history lovers and explorers.

For a day at the beach, Alleppey Beach of the city is perfect. Sunrise and sunsets are extremely beautiful here. Walk along the endless stretches of coastline apart from visiting some great nearby attractions like Vijay Park, Sea View Park, etc.
