Padmanabhapuram Palace is another historical wonder belonging to the 16th century. History seekers must also pay a visit to the Natural History Museum. The construction of the museum was completed in 1964 and it displays an exceptional collection of animal skeletons, stuffed animals and birds.
Kanakakkunnu Palace of Thiruvananthapuram is located in the heart of the city. Perched atop a small hill, this palace flaunts large chandeliers and royal furniture. Its flawless Kerala-style architecture catches the attention of all. The palace houses two auditoriums namely Sooryakanthi and Nishagandhi open-air auditorium. Many grand events are planned here.

Beach lovers must check out various beaches of the city. Samudra Beach, a lesser-known beach, is a perfect haven to soak yourself into ample of nature. Chowara Beach is another wonderful beach of the city lined up with coconut trees and swaying palm leaves.   The beach looks dreamy with white-sands and is perfect to unwind under the jovial sun. Also, to understand the local religions, visit the Attukal Bhagavathy Temple where millions of women visit during the annual festival of Attukal Pongala Festival. Pilgrims visiting here worship Attukal Bhagavathy apart from Goddess Kali, Lord Shiva, and Lord Ganesha.
